Tall Ship Cruise

Have you always dreamed about recreating that scene from Titanic where Jack and Rose are at the bow of the ship with their arms outstretched and the wind in their faces? While the Titanic is no longer available, it is possible to enjoy a cruise on one of the tall ships at Port Adelaide.

You can spend two hours sailing up and down the Port River on the One and All, enjoying the magic of sailing while watching out for the local Port River dolphins. There is also a full-day option with lunch if you would like a longer cruise.

Adelaide Oval Roof Climb

The Adelaide Oval has always been known as one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world. Since its redevelopment, it has also become one of the best football venues in Australia.

Here’s the opportunity to see it from an entirely different perspective – from right up on the roof with one of the best adventure experiences Adelaide has to offer.

The Adelaide Oval Roof Climb is not only fun, but there are views over the city centre, right across to the Adelaide Hills on one side, and the beaches on the other.

I recommend the twilight climb, where you have the opportunity to catch one of South Australia’s incredible sunsets, but there are day and nighttime climbs available too.

We have all seen the romance of hot air ballooning, that incredible feeling of just floating along over a spectacular landscape as the sun peeks over the horizon – could anything be more appropriate for a special gift?

In South Australia the place for hot air ballooning is the Barossa Valley, so the early morning can be followed up with a day of wine tasting and fine dining.

Located at West Beach, the lucky recipient can climb and swing and scare themselves silly while all safely harnessed to the giant frame.

If you are up for a challenge, then escape rooms can be so much fun. With many different themed rooms to choose from you can enjoy this experience more than once.

There are quite a few different escape rooms in Adelaide. I’ve done three of their rooms with my husband and managed to escape from two out of the three – and yes, I am still married 😂
