Worried about booking something on a date that doesn’t suit? All of the options below can be purchased as a voucher with a final booking to be confirmed at a later date. Alternatively you can buy a generic gift voucher here so that even the activity can be chosen by the recipient.
Tall Ship Cruise
Have you always dreamed about recreating that scene from Titanic where Jack and Rose are at the bow of the ship with their arms outstretched and the wind in their faces? While the Titanic is no longer available, it is possible to enjoy a cruise on one of the tall ships at Port Adelaide. You can spend two hours sailing up and down the Port River on the One and All, enjoying the magic of sailing while watching out for the local Port River dolphins.
Adelaide Oval Roof Climb
The Adelaide Oval has always been known as one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world. Since its redevelopment, it has also become one of the best football venues in Australia. Here’s the opportunity to see it from an entirely different perspective – from right up on the roof. There are also views over the city centre, right across to the Adelaide Hills on one side, and the beaches on the other. I recommend the twilight climb, where you have the opportunity to catch one of South Australia’s incredible sunsets, but there are day and night time climbs available too.
Hot Air Ballooning
We have all seen the romance of hot air ballooning, that incredible feeling of just floating along over a spectacular landscape as the sun peeks over the horizon – could anything be more appropriate for Valentines Day?
In South Australia the place for hot air ballooning is the Barossa Valley, so the early morning can be followed up with a day of wine tasting and fine dining.
Skydiving is a bucket list item for so many people. It is the ultimate challenge in giving up control and just being. It will make you heart pound and turn your legs into jelly. And it makes the perfect gift for someone who may not ever splurge themselves.
In Adelaide it is possible to Skydive over the suburbs, enjoying the view over the city and hills, landing on the beach at Semaphore, where friends and family can be waiting.
F/A-18 Flight Simulator
This one is for all the Top Gun fans out there. Get your inner Tom Cruise on and enjoy flying a jet fighter simulator. Not only can you try out the basics, but you get to try some of the manoeuvres that an actual jet pilot would know.
Currently the 30 minute experience is available for half price, but there is also a 60 minute experience available too.
V8 Mustang Hot Laps
Do you have a speed demon in your life with a penchant for classic cars? Head out to The Bend Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend and get driven around the track by a professional driver. Get your heart pumping as you experience all the turns and straights at race speed.
Escape Room Experience
This is one to test your relationship and see how well you can work together as a team to solve a puzzle. If you are up for a challenge, then Adventure rooms can be so much fun. With at least three different themed rooms to choose from you can enjoy this experience more than once.
Scenic Helicopter Flight
Here’s another of those bucket list activities that just needs to be ticked off. Enjoy this scenic helicopter ride for two over the southern part of the Barossa Valley including the Whispering Wall. The helicopters seat three only, so it will be a private flight with each person having great views over the surrounding countryside.
BBQ Boat Rental
If your loved one isn’t so much into adrenaline and adventure activities, this one might be just the thing. Pack a picnic, hire one of the BBQ boats on the River Torrens and spend an afternoon exploring from the Torrens Weir to Frome Road while enjoying the Adelaide skyline.
Adelaide Hidden Bar Tour
Do you love cute cocktail bars, city laneways and intimate places for your rendezvous? Spend an evening with a local guide learning about some of Adelaide’s hidden bars. At each one taste their signature cocktail and nibble on the tasting platters and tapas that compliment the drinks. After the tour you can come back to these bars in years to come.
