Worried about booking something on a date that doesn’t suit the recipient? All of the options below can be purchased as a voucher with a final booking to be confirmed at a later date.

Tall Ship Cruise

Have you always dreamed about recreating that scene from Titanic where Jack and Rose are at the bow of the ship with their arms outstretched and the wind in their faces? While the Titanic is no longer available, it is possible to enjoy a cruise on one of the tall ships at Port Adelaide.

You can spend two hours sailing up and down the Port River on the One and All, enjoying the magic of sailing while watching out for the local Port River dolphins. There is also a full-day option with lunch if you would like a longer cruise.

Adelaide Oval Roof Climb

The Adelaide Oval has always been known as one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world. Since its redevelopment, it has also become one of the best football venues in Australia.

Here’s the opportunity to see it from an entirely different perspective – from right up on the roof with one of the best adventure experiences Adelaide has to offer.

The Adelaide Oval Roof Climb is not only fun, but there are views over the city centre, right across to the Adelaide Hills on one side, and the beaches on the other.

I recommend the twilight climb, where you have the opportunity to catch one of South Australia’s incredible sunsets, but there are day and nighttime climbs available too.

Hot Air Ballooning

Balloon Adventures hot air balloon

We have all seen the romance of hot air ballooning, that incredible feeling of just floating along over a spectacular landscape as the sun peeks over the horizon – could anything be more appropriate for a special gift?

In South Australia the place for hot air ballooning is the Barossa Valley, so the early morning can be followed up with a day of wine tasting and fine dining.

Tandem Skydiving

Skydiving is a bucket list item for so many people. It is the ultimate challenge in giving up control and just being. It will make your heart pound and turn your legs into jelly.

And it makes the perfect gift for someone who may not ever splurge themselves.

In Adelaide it is possible to Skydive over the suburbs, enjoying the view over the city and hills, landing on the beach at Semaphore, where friends and family can be waiting.

Mega Adventure

This is a great one for the youngsters in your life – or even those who are just young at heart. I had a lot of fun doing this myself! Mega Adventure is like those climbing frames we all had at primary school, but on steroids!

Located at West Beach, the lucky recipient can climb and swing and scare themselves silly while all safely harnessed to the giant frame.

F/A-18 Flight Simulator

This one is for all the Top Gun fans out there. Get your inner Tom Cruise on and enjoy flying a jet fighter simulator. Not only can you try out the basics, but you get to try some of the manoeuvres that an actual jet pilot would know.

Gift a 30, 60 or 90-minute flight on a variety of aircraft. There is even a junior option for the littlest place enthusiasts in your life. There are some pretty good discounts available too.

V8 Hot Laps at The Bend Motorsport Park

Do you have a speed demon in your life with a penchant for fast cars? Head out to The Bend Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend and they can get driven around the track by a professional driver, or perhaps even jump into the driver’s seat.

Get the heart pumping as they experience all the turns and straights at race speed.

Escape Room Experience

This is one to test your relationships and see how well you can work together as a team to solve a puzzle – and it’s awesome fun along the way too.

If you are up for a challenge, then escape rooms can be so much fun. With many different themed rooms to choose from you can enjoy this experience more than once.

There are quite a few different escape rooms in Adelaide. I’ve done three of their rooms with my husband and managed to escape from two out of the three – and yes, I am still married 😂

Scenic Helicopter Flight

Here’s another of those bucket list activities that just needs to be ticked off. Take a twenty-minute helicopter flight over the vineyards in the Barossa Valley to experience this mode of transport for yourself.

The helicopters seat three only, so it will be a private flight with each person having great views over the surrounding countryside. There are also 10 and 30-minute flights available to suit your needs and budget.

BBQ Boat Rental

If your loved one isn’t so much into adrenaline and adventure activities, this one might be just the thing.

Pack a picnic, hire one of the BBQ boats on the River Torrens and spend an afternoon exploring from the Torrens Weir to Frome Road while enjoying the Adelaide skyline.
